Establishing Manufacturing Capabilities for Human Vaccines

For this piece, UNIDO had commissioned a white paper from my client, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Expert Kris Howard. My client found that while his knowledge of the field was beyond extensive, pulling that expertise into a concise, readable document was a difficult task and hired me as ghostwriter.

For this project I worked from large, unwieldy documents that served as a "brain-dump" for my client, distilling the raw material into the final document with the help of follow up interviews and conversations. The subject material was entirely new to me, but I cannot stress how helpful my client was in helping me to understand. We were both extremely proud of the final product.

I also provided ghostwriting for the companion case study, Commercialising Vaccines: Identifying Market Opportunities. In this companion document, the principles outlined in the white paper were applied to a real life scenario in South Africa.

Client Testimonial

I don’t think there is a single thing that I can complain about during my work with Cecile. In fact, I was continually in awe of her ability to talk to me and within a few sentences understand my fuzzy thinking and somehow magically turn it into the right thing to put on paper. Furthermore, the subject matter was very technical and relatively advanced (Vaccine Manufacturing) and something she had no prior experience in. Somehow, she was able to extract the essence of the subject and put it into words in a manner that made comprehension a very dense topic very easy to read and understand. She was also able to remain flexible when my customer wanted to change the direction of the document mid stream. I can’t recommend her highly enough. I don’t believe I ever said it before and meant it, but she really is a joy to work with.

Building a Successful Vaccine Manufacturing Business in Lower and Middle Income Countries

When my client, Kris Howard, was again commissioned by UNIDO to create a new white paper to support local vaccine manufacturing, I was happy to continue my ghostwriting role. As part of ongoing work to support the field of local vaccine manufacturing in developing countries, those who have played a pivotal role in the rise of successful vaccine manufacturing firms were invited to share their story with the world. From how the market has changed over the past 50 years, to common factors for success, to the challenges of technology transfers – the final document and companion podcasts are a valuable resource for any stakeholder involved in the establishment of vaccine manufacturing in a new firm or country for the first time.

An Introduction to impedance matching transformers

This piece was commissioned for a leading B2B industrial buying platform as a lead magnet. The target audience was key decision makers — good general knowledge of the sector but in roles without the technical background needed for an electrical engineer or technician role. My task was to put together a concise document where readers of any technical level could make sense of the subject. Structured extras and appendices were included to provide more in depth technical information for the reader's benefit.

Due to the conditions of the contract with this client, I am only able to share a limited sample of the text.
